I was 110% not expecting that result. Never in a million years could I have imagined. The most I could muster up upon messaging my family back home was “uhhhhh…” and “uhhhhhhhhhh…” Welp. I don’t even want to waste more time on it, ugh. 2016-2020 is officially canceled.
In the time between when I posted last, I came down with an interesting…predicament. To make a long story short, upon waking up one Saturday, a lot of things about my right were off. The first two doctors said it was sudden hearing loss and that recovery sometimes just doesn’t happen… I took steroids and got better for ONE day. Got a referral to go to a big facility and the doc there said it could be Meniere’s disease since it comes can goes. I’ve experienced no vertigo symptoms, so I was, and still am, super confused about it all. The meds I was prescribed was a ridiculous amount of bitter syrup tubes. Right now I’m taking a 2-week break, hopefully by the next time I see the doctor my ear will still be fine.
And on to happier things—
She’s so easily distracted
Halloween was very uneventful. I wasn’t feeling the Halloween spirit this year; it just kinda came and went. My friends and I got to do a bit of people watching in Amemura, and I was able to eat some Halloween-themed cake.
Hair Growth Update!!!
After doing the big chop about two years ago, I can say that the length is finally getting to where I want it to be. Unfortunately, the shrinkage is real.
And my diet? The thing I’ve been struggling the entire year over? Ugh… just when I start getting a few compliments, the ear thing I mentioned earlier decides to happen… So I ended up eating more than I would have had I not had to take that medicine.
Making it to Christmas with no more days eating out like this is my current goal. I should not be spending $20-$40 on dinner…especially when it’s not steak or lobster! Not to mention I’m sure that after breakfast and lunch, a 1500 calorie meal with coworkers just isn’t worth it in the end.
Summer is almost here, but spring is where it’s at! I’ve been busy with life, work, rolling around my room, paying taxes, and now playing Dark Souls 3. Sometimes I don’t know exactly what to post on this blog, but today I think this is quite appropriate. The park I’ll be referring to is Utsubo park located in Honmachi, a business district in Osaka.
I’ve been eating lunch outside lately since it’s been getting warmer and warmer. Utsubo Park in Honmachi Osaka seems to have rose events every year around this time. Walking into this park is simply breathtaking for me as I’ve never really seen so many different types of roses in one place before.
but reading it like this just looks weird! The s is necessary, you guys.
My attitude and energy shoots up through the roof when in this park! I just wish the roses could stay forever. Even when they are gone, the park is just so pristine and relaxing, it’s a nice getaway from the office. Gotta get out and about before the summer heat ruins everything.
I also changed my hair! I pretty much only where protective styles these days because my hair is still too short for my liking. I usually wear wigs or braid up my hair like in the picture below. Hopefully I can start doing something with my natural hair. It has gotten pretty long, but you wouldn’t be able to tell because of the shrinkage!
Yeah, that’s all. The next blog post should be before the end of this month, haha. I already have the pictures ready for it. Gotta keep updating, gotta keep updating… But Dark Souls 3 is too good. I squeezed Dark Souls into this post 3 times, admittedly the last two instances were lazy.
I can get lost for quite a bit browsing the makeup aisle anywhere. From the local supermarket to high end departments stores, it’s fun!
Here are a few things I picked up from the supermarket.
Majolica Majorca – GR615 nail polish
Majolica Majorca – OR313 orange liquid blush
CHIFURE – metal lipstick case
CHIFURE – 578 lipstick (red)
ururua moisturizing hand wash
CHIFURE – I will definitely be picking up a few more of these lipsticks since they are so cheap. I’ve never paid attention to CHIFURE stuff because the packaging is very simple. It’s easy to just totally miss it while browsing. They have a few nice, pretty safe, shades and each is about 300 yen! That is INSANELY cheap in Japan. The actual lipstick comes in a ‘refill’ kind of packaging.. there are a few cases that cost around 200-300 yen. Buuuuut… what I’d do is just switch the refills into the same case if I want to carry it with me. Basically it turns into a 600 yen lipstick if you buy a case every time huh?!
I was on the hunt for a full coverage red color and got it for dirt cheap. It had the generic lipstick smell but it wasn’t strong. Feels very creamy and is opaque. So far this has been a winner.
The orange blush is greeeat! No complaints here The bottle is also really cute.
In other news:
After another 3 month long wait I was able to get my hair straightened again at the salon. As you can see in the pictures below… the roots are funky where the hair is parted because the stylists couldn’t really focus on getting them bone straight.
Blurry shot with different lighting but I think it looks good.
Got this highly rated yet suspiciously cheap flat iron. I go up to around 180. Wouldn’t dare use the max setting! I think it was only around 3000 yen at biccamera.
But wait! There’s more!
I need to do something about my room. Storage is there yet it’s still messy. Things need to go into drawers, etc.
It would be nice to get things straightened up before I go on winter break. There’s actually plenty of time for that and I should hold myself accountable. I technically only have 3 FULL days of work for this week and next week combined! All the other days are half days. NO EXCUSES!
